Azerbaijan is known to be the largest country in the South Caucasus of Eurasia. It is on the borders of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. Azerbaijan is a secular, democratic and republic country. The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku. Modern Azerbaijan declared their independence in 1991. Azerbaijan became the first secular democratic country which had Muslims majority. Azerbaijan is a unitary, dual executive system republic. The Constitution of Azerbaijan, which was adopted in 1995, does not have an official religion, even when they have 89% of Shia Muslim. The Human Development, economic development, and literacy rate is higher and the unemployment rate, low. Azerbaijani is the official language of this country. It was admitted to the United Nations in the year 1992. The currency of Azerbaijan is Manat. The Centre for Economic and Social Development of Azerbaijan claims that the country’s rank in 148 countries for tourism competitiveness indicators is 39th. In 2017, Azerbaijan had the fastest developing tourism and travel economy all over the world. In past 10 years, Baku Azerbaijan Hotels have increased around 4 fold in revenue. It provides culinary tourism. They sponsored the Atlético Madrid jerseys which read- “Azerbaijan – Land of Fire.” In 2018, a new slogan was introduced namely “Take another look.”

Azerbaijan has a lot of resorts and hotels and a variety of flora and fauna. The prices of the resorts and hotels are either very expensive to affordable. The climate of this country varies. Mountain tourism of Azerbaijan tourism is quite popular. Khinalig is Azerbaijan’s highest mountain village. The village of Lahij, in this country, is a centre of ancient arts. Shahdag Mountain Resort is this country’s first ski resort. Azerbaijan has 8 national parks. Baku is the centre of most tourist attractions.

Baku, or the “City of Winds”, is the capital and the largest city of Azerbaijan. It is the largest city in the Caspian Sea too. Baku is called the ‘Paris of the East’. The Inner-city of Baku is the celebrated World’s Heritage Site (UNESCO). Baku is ranked eighth in the top 10 places for their Baku nightlife. Most of the clubs can be found open till dawn. Clubs provide with Azerbaijan’s cuisine with traditional folk music. Most of the public houses are present near the Fountains Square. It is the cultural, scientific and industrial centre of the country.  Baku’s largest industrial sector is Petroleum. The Country’s largest stock exchange, the Baku Stock Exchange is located in Baku.
